hello, I am looking for a good setup to share a video project with 3 editors, on the cheap (no 10gbe). What do you think of this setup ?

  • My hackintosh (works great for editing) : i7 3770k@4.5ghz ; Z77MX-D3H-TH ; 32GB ; R9 280x.
  • The idea : use my hackintosh as the main editing system, and have the other two access the project via Ethernet.
  • I'd use a 1Gb switch with link aggregation, and 3 ethernet cards on my hackintosh ( 1 internal + 2 tunderbolt to ethernet adapters)
  • The project will be stored on a usb3.0 1TB SSD (samsung 850evo), allowing fast un-plugging if neccessary, and it'll be duplicated on internal ssds.

  • In theory, it would allow 100MB/sec for every other editors via ethernet, and the SSD will not bottleneck.

What do you think of that setup ? Does it seems stable to you ?
