I tried to dual boot my HP envy dv6-7214nr a couple years ago, but I ran into the problem that my BIOS is locked in that I cannot change to AHCI, which was required before. It is now in SATA RAID(Which actually uses AHCI if i am correct?) which makes no sense since it came with only one HDD. But since I could not get it into AHCI the mac installer would not recognize my HDD so it would not install. My question is that all the guides for Yosemite I have read have not mentioned AHCI at all, so is it not necessary anymore or am I just mising it? So could it work for me now? Also now I have a Intel Centrino N 6230 and a boot SSD as well as my normal hard drive I had last time I tried
